Prison seasons and resets: what carries and what does not

Prison resets on a cycle, and the cycle is short. Weeks to months on OP prison, longer or never on classic. Because prestige and rebirth inflate numbers past what any balance survives, a reset is the intended release valve rather than a failure.

What usually carries over

• Store ranks. Almost always. A rank bought with real money is normally granted again on the new season, and servers that do not do this say so loudly because players ask.
• Cosmetics. Usually.
• Leaderboard recognition. Sometimes a tag or a small head start for previous-season top finishers.

What never carries over

• Money and tokens.
• Mine rank, prestige and rebirth counts.
• Pickaxe and enchant levels. This is the painful one, because it is where the hours went.
• Plots and anything built on them, on most servers.

Why joining early matters more here than almost anywhere

Prison progress is multiplicative. A player two weeks ahead is not two weeks ahead, they are several multipliers ahead, and each multiplier makes the next one faster to reach. Arriving late means grinding against people whose income per hour is orders of magnitude above yours, competing for the same leaderboard and the same PvP warps.

The practical rule: join in the first week of a season if you can, and if you cannot, pick a server whose current season is young rather than the one with the biggest player count.

How to find out where a season is

Servers often advertise it in their own server message, which is exactly what our pinger records: several entries on the ranking page mention a season number or a reset countdown because that is what their status reply said when we last checked. Otherwise ask in chat or read the Discord announcements.

Before a reset, spend everything. Tokens, money and unspent crate keys are usually worth nothing the moment the season ends, and a stockpile you were saving is the most common avoidable loss in prison.
