This list is not ordered by player count and does not say who has the most, because that is the wrong question for someone who has never mined a rank.

What makes a prison server beginner friendly

Prison is not a hard gamemode to understand. You mine, you sell, you pay for the next rank, and the ladder repeats. What makes it hard for a new player is pacing. Our pick, and the one place on this list where the first join is not a wooden pickaxe. Run /freerank and you have a rank. Run /mine goto and you are in a mine. Mining pays out in Tokens, which buy the OP enchants: Jackhammer for full layers, Nuke for chunk blasts, Vein Miner, Token Miner, Key Finder and Wild Blaze. Rebirths, multipliers and a dynamic /upgrade system sit behind that for when the mines stop being the whole game.

Two things matter for a beginner specifically. The store sells boosts, and everything it sells is also earnable in game, so paying buys speed rather than access. And the address accepts clients from 1.8 to 26.2 with Bedrock answering on port 19132, so whichever Minecraft you own will connect. 4. Purple Prison, purpleprison.net

What to expect in your first session

The first ten minutes are the same on every server here. You spawn, you find the first mine, you fill your inventory, and you sell. On most servers the mine is a safe zone; Kotaku described mines as "usually PvP safe zones" and noted that they reset every few minutes, so a mine that looks empty when you arrive will refill. Nobody can take your blocks in there.
